"Black Magic" prod. Flying Lotus ft. Jose James
I just heard this track on Flylo's myspace this weekend and I probably listened to it at least 5x at work today. I heard the sample used on this track from Madlib's "Blunted in the Bombshelter" mix cd but I don't know who the original artist is. Some people think samples need to be chopped the fuck up but sometimes you just gotta let the loop play. This is a great example.....(www.myspace.com/flyinglotus)
mix by Ketepica (soulsociedad.com)
really really dope mix by Ketepica from soulsociedad.com. It's 1hr of late 60s and 70s Brazilian funk and jazz (I'm liking this better than Ahu's mix to be honest.) If you're into soul/jazz/funk and rare jems, I recommended checking out soulsociedad.com. They have a shitload of archived mixes from previous shows and usually have new mixes uploaded every month. ENJOY! http://www.soulsociedad.com/podcast/mixtape%20_%20bello%20horizonte%20(brabra%20mix.3).mp3

John Wall posterizes Stack
John Wall who will be a freshman this year at Kentucky throws down a facial on Jerry Stackhouse. I know Stack is old and washed up but it's still a nasty dunk.

Thanks FLIP!
So the other day I stopped by the homie Flip's pad to talk freelance graphic design work and kick it for a bit. The landlord of his home had a collection of old records in the garage that he obviously doesn't care about. I've known about these records for about a year or so but just never been to the pad during that time. MAN! I was like a kid in a candy store when I finally got to dig thru these wooden crates. Flip said the landlord was a black man so you know he's got some soulful and funky shit. I only went thru half of the collection sweaty and dusty as fuck but that comes with the art of diggin so I'm used to those conditions. Anyway, here's some shit I picked up.....

....I'll be back for more.

TPHR & Manofue Wurdz scratch sesh
This was randomly shot at TPHR's lab in February 2009. I start it off than TPHR puts me to shame.
Disrupt "The Bass Has Left the Building"
I never heard of Disrupt till I randomly browsed thru the turntable lab site to see what's new and decided to listen to audio clips of Disrupt's first release in 2006 entitled "Foundation Bit." Since then, I've become a huge fan of this man's work. If you like DUB or that lo-fi, 8-bit sound, I highly recommend checking this dude out. His latest release "The Bass Has Left the Building" is available at turntable lab and various on-line shops. This shit is in heavy rotation right now.

EXILE & DJ DAY
I got a chance to catch the show at UC Riverside last night and this is probably the dopest live MPC set I've ever seen. Here's part 1 from their set at Boombox in Los Angeles.
